Part 1: Where do I want us to be headed? Describing the caring
family
that I want us to build
In this part of your list of personal commitments, we invite you to
describe the
family that you are committed to building. Let's say that at some point
a few years from now, on a morning when you have time to pause without
hurrying,
you look with pleasure at your family life, and you realize that you
and your
spouse have built a healthy and caring family that gives you a deep
sense of
safety, happiness, and satisfaction. You find yourself smiling peacefully as you
remember
the commitments that you made at the start.
Please consider these descriptions of life in a caring and healthy
family, free
from violence and other destructive patterns of functioning, and click
each
commitment that you are ready to make. In Part 2, after you finish this
part
and the short exercise that follows, we will consider how to get to
where you
are headed.
